Your much wanted .ME domain name is opening up for registration on June 6, 2008 in a few hours as domain name registrars get prepared to face the domain landrush phase. .ME is the TLD for Montenegro and promises some interesting domain name variations.
From June 6 to June 26, the Landrush begins when the public at large can apply without a trademark. After Landrush closes, domain names requested by multiple parties will be auctioned between the requesting parties.

SAN FRANCISCO - Microsoft Corp.'s abandoned takeover bid for Yahoo Inc. appears to have culminated with a disheartening thud for those two companies but amounted to yet another coup for online search leader Google Inc.
What began in January as Microsoft's most audacious attack yet on Google instead paved the way for the Internet's most powerful company to gain even more clout through a deal that gives Google access to a large chunk of Yahoo's advertising space.
By submitting to a partnership that endorses Google's search advertising technology as a better choice than its own, Yahoo is giving online marketers even more incentive to spend most of their money with its biggest rival, according to industry analysts.

MESEBERG, Germany - President Bush and German Chancellor Angela Merkel both want to keep Iran from developing nuclear weapons, but right now, they're standing on opposite sides of a revolving door. He's on his way out of office. She's trying to stay in.
Bush is eager to resolve the nuclear standoff with Tehran before his presidency ends. In talks with Merkel on Wednesday, and with other European leaders later in the week, Bush will be coaxing them to stand in solidarity against Iran and embrace tougher sanctions if the country doesn't stop its uranium enrichment program.

KHARTOUM, Sudan - A Sudanese Airbus carrying 214 people veered off the runway in a thunderstorm and burst into flames late Tuesday, killing dozens unable to escape the inferno. Officials said more than 100 people fled the plane before it was engulfed by towering orange flames.
An Associated Press reporter at the scene said the Sudan Airways jetliner appeared to have left the runway after landing at Khartoum International Airport, and several loud explosions resounded as fire raced through the aircraft.
The roaring blaze dwarfed the Airbus A310's shattered fuselage as firefighters sprayed water with little apparent effect, Sudanese TV footage showed. Ambulances and firetrucks rushed to the scene, and media were kept away.
